The only new hardware I have on my PC are new speakers but they are simply plugged in with an aux cable so I don't think that would be the problem. I also unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the Power Management settings of my USB Root Hub Properties. I'm not sure why it says Notebook but it's the only thing I could find.
